01. CASE STUDIES
The Imaginations of Powell + Pressburger - Depot, Lewes - 2023
Campaign for Depot's participation in the 2023 BFI nationwide retrospective of the works of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, Cinema Unbound: The Creative Worlds of Powell + Pressburger. While the screenings at Depot were supported by the larger BFI campaign, a strong visual identity for the season was required to advertise the films to regional customers.
Design goal: Eye catching, minimalist iconography for each of the films screened at Depot in a style that complimented the BFI's striking and simple design work, but which still had it's own distinct identity.
Assets delivered across print, web, social media & video for both DCP projection and digital signage.
Surrealism Season - Depot, Lewes - 2024
Campaign to advertise Depot's annual season of films, events and exhibitions based around the broad theme of 'art', which this year focused on surrealism. Films included David Lynch's Blue Velvet, Satoshi Kon's Paprika, Richard Linklater's Waking Life and Jean Cocteau's The Blood of a Poet.
Design goal: Utilise photography for the key artwork, in the style of classic surrealists such as Man Ray and Lee Miller, as well as more contemporary artists like Storm Thorgerson. The key image was produced in camera at an abandoned building.
Assets delivered across print, web, social media & video for both DCP projection and digital signage.
Summer of Music: Latin America - Depot, Lewes - 2024
Campaign for Depot's annual 'Summer of Music' film season, which focused on films that heavily feature music from Latin American countries.
Design goal: To evoke a warming, summer vibe mixed with a feeling of rhythm and movement through vivid colours and expressive shapes.
Assets delivered across print, web, social media & video for both DCP projection and digital signage.
Whodunnit Season - Depot, Lewes - 2024
Campaign for Depot's 'Whodunnit' murder mystery retrospective film season.
Design goal: Create four different pieces of key art, one for each of the films in the series, with the aim to build interest in the season while retaining familiarity with the branding. I touched upon some well known staple imagery associated with with murder mysteries - torn paper, scrawled text - to help act as a visual shorthand.
Assets delivered across print, web, social media & video for both DCP projection and digital signage.
02. POSTER DESIGN
A selection of designs for film screenings that have taken place around the South East. Cinema is a huge passion of mine, and I take great pride in the art of distilling a film's identity into a design.
03. MOTION GRAPHICS
Examples of my motion graphic work designed for a variety of events, to be displayed by DCP projection and digital signage. Please imagine them with the perfect choice of fitting music playing over the top.
04. 3D
A selection of workflow images from personal projects made in Blender. Experimenting with 3D started as a lockdown hobby, and it quickly became a permanent fixture for my creative projects.
05. PHOTOGRAPHY
I will always be a photographer at heart, and it has been a deep passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Here are a few of my favourite images.
